What Jaunmīlgrāvis is and what buildings are there

Jaunmīlgrāvis is not a separate official neighbourhood: it is a historical name for the western part of the official Mīlgrāvis neighbourhood. The neighbourhoods portal describes this part as primarily port territory. There are few homes there, so on this page we keep it short and write only about what really applies to these buildings.

Being close to Ķīšezers, the Mīlgrāvis canal and the port means wind, damp and an industrial environment. For tall metal flues this means checking the fixings and joints, and for brick chimneys crumbling mortar in the chimney head. • the amount of soot and tar, if the flue has not been cleaned for a long time;
• whether several flues are cleaned in one visit or a technical condition inspection is added.

If a crack, a burnt-out flue pipe or a loose joint is found during cleaning, it is recorded in the certificate. A damaged flue must not be used; we quote the repair price separately.
