In the detached houses the choice of boilers is wide: gas, pellets, wood, sometimes several boilers in one house. Heating boiler flue cleaning with a certificate costs from €100. In the form, give the address, the boiler type and, if you know it, the flue material.
The two sides of Imanta: heating network and detached houses
According to the neighbourhoods portal, the multi-storey housing estates take up about 17% of Imanta and the detached house areas 14%. The estates sit next to the Rīgas siltums Imanta heat plant; the city's heat supply strategy names the Imanta zone as the second largest, with roughly a quarter of the heat produced in Riga.
So in the multi-storey buildings there is practically no flue work, and the job there is the ventilation ducts. In the detached house areas every house has its own boiler and its own flue, and that is where most chimney sweep work in Imanta lies.

The boiler decides the flue work

When a brick chimney no longer suits the boiler
If a detached house's chimney was originally built for a stove or a coal boiler, its brick channel is usually wide. The flue gases of a modern gas or pellet boiler are cooler, and in a wide, cold channel they cool further and form condensation. The signs are dark patches on the chimney in the attic, crumbling mortar in the chimney head and water at the cleaning door.
The usual answer is a liner: a stainless steel pipe of a suitable diameter pulled into the old channel. Before that, the channel is cleaned and checked with a camera to see whether it is straight and sound. We quote the lining price based on the flue length, diameter and roof access. Changing the heating in a detached house in Imanta
On the 2025 zoning map, Imanta is in Riga's heat supply zone III; this does not mean there is no heating network there. In zone III, when you choose a new type of heating, you must first consider a zero-emission solution or a connection to the heating network, then solid biomass such as pellets, and only then gas. A lower-priority solution may be chosen if the higher one is not technically and economically justified.
If you simply replace an old boiler with a new one using the same fuel, an ecodesign appliance of up to 50 kW is allowed in all zones. The new appliance must be registered with the Riga Energy Agency, and before it is used you need a certificate on whether it may be connected to the existing flue.

Ventilation in estate blocks and the route to your address
In the apartment buildings of the housing estates, natural ventilation ducts have their own deadline: once every 10 years, and once every five years in rooms with gas appliances; a certificate is drawn up each time. This is usually organised by the building manager; more: ventilation check in apartment buildings.
Imanta has a railway line, and the large inner-block areas affect the route to a particular house. In the request, write the exact address and, if the house is on a street of detached houses, whether a car can get up to it.
