Each house has its own heating, so each has its own flues and its own cleaning deadlines. Flue cleaning costs from €100, with the certificate and call-out included. In the form, write the address and what you heat with.
A boiler, a stove and a garden cabin in one yard
A detached house in Beberbeķi may have a wood or pellet boiler, a gas boiler, a fireplace or a masonry stove, and in the yard a garden cabin or sauna with a small metal stove. Boiler, metal stove and sauna stove flues are cleaned by 1 November and again between 1 November and 1 March. A masonry stove and a fireplace with masonry mass, which hold heat for longer than three hours, are cleaned once, by 1 November.
The fire safety regulations allow the owner of a private house to clean a solid fuel flue themselves, and then no certificate is needed. More: chimney sweep for a house.

The nearby forest and draught
Beberbeķi borders a forest, and near the forest the trees are often taller than the houses. If the trees are taller than the chimney, the wind around them can push smoke back down the channel, and the stove starts to smoke; draught is often weak in foggy and still weather too. So during cleaning it is worth checking not only whether the channel is clean, but also the draught and whether the chimney head is high enough. The building code requires the chimney to be at least 0.5 m above the roof covering, and further requirements depend on the distance to the ridge.
In autumn needles and leaves collect on the roof and the chimney cap, and branches or birds' nests sometimes fall into the channel. A cap with a mesh prevents this, and the building code allows caps and deflectors. If the stove smokes even after cleaning, start here: chimney has no draught. Fitting a cap is a separate job, and we price it for your situation.

Choosing a heating type outside the city centre
Riga rules on the type of heat supply divide the city into three zones. According to the municipal zoning map, Beberbeķi is coloured neither as zone I nor as zone II, so it belongs to zone III; this is our own reading of the map, so check your address in the GeoRiga layer. In zone III, when you change the type of heating, a zero-emission solution such as a heat pump must be assessed first. If that is not technically and economically justified, you can choose solid biomass, such as wood or pellets, and only after that gas.
An existing boiler may be replaced with a new ecodesign boiler of up to 50 kW using the same fuel, and every boiler must be registered with the Riga Energy Agency. From 1 January 2031 installing new appliances using any kind of fossil fuel is banned in all zones. Before a new boiler is used, you need a certificate on whether it may be connected to the old flue: chimney sweep's condition report.
Riga binding regulations No. RD-24-260-sn on heat supply, as amended (zone III priorities, sub-point 28.1, registration, the 2031 ban); Cabinet Regulation No. 238, point 79. The zone reading is ours, not a municipal statement. Checked 04.11.2026.
Logistics and service premises
Along Kārļa Ulmaņa gatve and towards the airport there are also warehouses and service businesses. A company boiler room or workshop stove needs a certificate after every cleaning, and a long-burn boiler flue is cleaned twice a season: chimney sweep for businesses.
Access and price
In Beberbeķi the street network is sparser than in the city, and some houses are further from the main road. In the request, write the exact address and whether there is a ladder to the roof. Cleaning one flue costs from €100, usually €100–130, and the certificate and call-out are included here too. Prices: prices.
